F Chords and G Chords Matching Game

Reflection:

This week I chose to take some time to review my previous chords I have learnt in the past weeks, as well as refresh my knowledge on reading sheet music. I have started to look over the sheet music for my final song – Bennie and the Jets by Elton John. I can notice some similarities in the song, it is very quick once you move through the introduction with noticeable repetition of chords throughout the lyrics (eg, BABA OR DEDE). I was a little concerned when I looked over the song at first; I was very overwhelmed last month with my first song and I was worried that this song may possible be too complicated. When it comes down to the chords, the only worry I have is keeping up the pace and trying my best not to play through it too fast. I find that when I learn new songs, I often play too fast through the song. Going into my final piece, I will keep in mind that I have allowed for lots of time to practice and film the video. I will remind myself to play slowly until I have understood the patterns, and then learn to speed up the pace at which I play.

As well, I have learned the F and G chords on the piano. I find that my previous knowledge in guitar and ukulele has helped me learn the chords on the piano. Often when I am playing the ukulele, I transfer those chords on the piano to make sure that everything is sounding correct, vice versa which piano to ukulele. Learning these chords inspired me to use this matching game for my math and music lesson project 🙂
